On December 12th, 2022, the TOKYO DOME CORPORATION announced that construction would begin on a new theater. This project involves the construction of a theater (named TBD) that will serve as the creative hub for a new form of entertainment within the Tokyo Dome City facility, located in the Bunkyo ward of Tokyo, and is a partnership between the TOKYO DOME CORPORATION and LIVE FORWARD Co., Ltd., a group company of YOSHIMOTO KOGYO HOLDINGS Co., Ltd., The location of the theater is positioned in a prime area, near both the JR and the Toei Subway-Mita Line Suidobashi Stations. The theater is projected to have a seating capacity of around 700 audience members, with plans to move forward in anticipation of opening in late December of 2023 (estimated schedule). Hoshino Architects INC. will handle design supervision duties for this new theater. The design concept is mainly expressed through colorful ropework, which spans across both the interiors and exteriors of the theater, depicting the "emotions", "cheers", and "smiles and laughter" which as a stage being illuminated by the spotlight, can create, deliver and bring forth a wave of thrill, excitement and anticipation, that can be felt throughout the entire theater.
