Tokyo Dome City Landscape Renewal, for which Hoshino Architects Inc. served as the Master Design Architect, has been selected for inclusion in the European touring exhibition “Architect@Work – Project Exhibition 2025/2026,” curated by World-Architects. The annual curated exhibition highlights international works aligned with the theme “TRANSFORMATION,” showcasing projects that reimagine and adapt existing buildings and public spaces through conversion, renovation, reuse, and regeneration. Spanning major cities across Europe, the exhibition features selected works from architecture, landscape, interior, and lighting design fields. — the Tokyo Dome City Landscape Renewal — A landscape renewal project for the entire Tokyo Dome City area. To create a continuous sense of liveliness as part of the city, the previously closed-off area was opened up. Vivid colors were used in the ground design to guide people, and new shops and furniture were placed throughout to create enjoyable and connected pathways. The new shops, reflecting the nature of this location where conditions change daily due to events, were designed as lightweight, temporary structures based on vehicle-like units. By making use of the limitations imposed by existing structures and facilities, various forms and sizes of furniture, as well as steps that combine stairs and benches, were incorporated into the landscape. This creates opportunities for visitors to engage in different ways and connects the spaces of activity. Additionally, various digital signages were installed. These visualize information and the atmosphere of the area, previously vague, through ever-changing visual expressions, expanding the time and space for visitors and transforming the site into a new part of the city.
